HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 20, Page 312, July 30, 1940NO 312 Proceedings cf Board of Commissioners City of Paducah_July 30, 1940 --- -- -- ____ 11 At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commissioners Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on the 30th day of July, 1940, Mayor Lackey presided and upon call of the roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor � Lackey (5). Minutes of the previous meetings were adopted as read. I Commissioner Dorian offered motion that a resolution entitled: Resolution expressing thanks to the Hobson "A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH ITS THANKS TO MRS. JETTIE WEIL family for photograph of Council in 1879 HOBSON, ;MISS LILLIE HOBSON AND MISS ROSEBUD HOBSON FOR DONATING TO THE CITY THE GROUP PHOTOGRAPH OF MEYER WEIL AND THE MEMBERS OF HIS COUNCIL IN THE YEAR 1879, AND DIRECTING THAT SAID PHOTOGRAPH BE PERMANENTLY INSTALLED IN THE COMMISSIONERS CHAMBER", be adopted. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (5). Resolution expressing Commissioner Dorian offered motion that a resolution entitled: thanks to City !.'onager for redecorating City "A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING TO JAMES P. SMITH, CITY MANAGER, TifE APPRECIATION OF THE Hall BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE '',7ORK DONE BY HIM IN HAVING REPAIRED, REPAINTED AND REDECORATED THE CITY HALL AND ITS OFFICES", be adopted. Adopted on call of the .roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (5). Mayor Lackey offered the following motion: ,J, S. A. Fowler files his petition with the Mayor and Board of Commissioners, representing tJater 1,7a in - ::ashington Street from 28th to 29th therein that he is the owner of Lots 11, 12, 13 and 14, fronting on Washington Street, (S.A.Fowler property) between 28th and 29th Streets in the City of Paducah, and therein petitioned Mayor and Board of Commissioners to authorize the laying of a six inch water main on Washing - i ton Street fnom the intersection of l7ashington Street and 28th.Streets westward to a point 400 feet wast of 28th street. The Board of Commissioners of the Paducah Water .Yorks, having stated that the request and petition of S. A. Fowler complies with the franchise provisions and requirements; I now move that the petition of S. A. Fowler.bo received and filed and that the Paducah Wator Works, through its Board of Commissioners, be authorized to ley said six inch ruin on Washington 3troot from 28th Street westward to a point 400 feet west of ?Ath street, so as to provide water service to the lots abutting on Z,'aahin•ton Street along the said section at such time as 3. A. Fowler shall have com- plied with the regulation of the Board of Commissionors of the Paducah Water :'Works, regvtring payment in advance for a period of two years of the minimum water service rates provided by schedule of rates now in force. Commissioner Baker offered motion that the payroll for the Plast lhalf !Bat half of July, 1940 be allowed in the amount of $10,703.40 and that the City July, 1940 Trenauror be authorized to pay same by checks drawn on the General Fund.
