V Commissioner Dorian offered motion that the City Manager be Light authorized at Carnegie Library authorized to have installed, on or near the grounds of the Carnegie Public Library, an over -head or such other light as may be suitable to provide sufficient lighting of the Library grounds. Flood 'Well i:.emorandum I �1 Commissioner Pulliam offered motion that the City Managor be of Agreement - Shell Oil Company Section "B" hereby authorized and directed, when the construction clauses herein have been approved by the United States Engineers, to execute on behalf of the City of Paducah a Memorandum of Agreement dated March 26, 1940, with the 3holl 011 Company, Incorporated, Jproviding for certnin terms and conditions under the form of option and conveyance lfrom that Company covering a portion of section "B" of the Paducah Flood Wall Right of way. I Commissioner Baker offered the following motion: The property owners Water mnir ' extended on abutting ?forth 36th Street from Central Avenue to the Pines Road in the City of ::.35th 3t. Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, have submitted to the Board of Commissioners their, petition dated April 15, 1940, requesting that the Mayor and Board of Commissioners i authorize the Paducah Water Works and its Commissioners to lay a six inch main along said 36th Street, beginning at the intersection of North 36th and Central Avenue, and i extending 13estward along North 36th Street to its intersection with the Pines Read, a distance of approximately 1170 feet. Said petition was approved by the Commissioners of Water Works. I now move that said petition be received and filed and that the Commis3lonera of Paducah 17ater l7orka be directed to lay and construct a six inch water main and to provide all necessary water connections along :forth 36th Street between Central Avenue and the Pines Road. I Said extension is to be made on condition that the owners of property abutting on Borth 36th Street, between Central Avenue and Pines Road, and who have petitioned for said extension shall take out and pay for water service at a fixed rate for a term of not less than two years, commencing thirty days after said pipe ex- tension is completed and service connections made and subject to the terms and con- ditions set out In the said petition requesting said extension. It is understood that the City of Paducah agrees and binds itself to pay fire hydrsnt rental and water minimum rental, as provided in the franchise now In farce, said sums to be paid when said water main is laid and water provided in said I ext^.r.c!c: pipe line.
