HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 20, Page 282, April 30, 1940i NO. 282 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah April 30, 1940 At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commissioners Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., on the 30th day of April, 1940, Mnyor Lackey presided and upon call of the roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (5). Minutes of the previous meetings were adopted as read. Commissioner Baker offered the following motion: The Board of Bids on Hospital Furnish- ings received and filed Commissioners having adopted a resolution authorizing the City Manager to advertise for ,bids for the purchase of furnishing to be used in the new Riverside Hospital and the 'City Manager having received nine (9) bids, which, through oversight, were not filed of record before the acceptance by the City of the bid of Rhodes -Burford Company as the lowest and best; I now move that the bids of Rhodes-Burfat'd Company, Wilson Book pCompany, Hamilton Mattress Company, Brooks-Cenhart Surgical Instrument Company, A. S. Aloe Company, Watkins, inc., Howard D. Happy Company, Massey Surgical Supply, Inc., and Hard Manufacturing Company, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Balzer, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey '5). Commissioner Baker offered motion that an ordinance entitled: Ordinance authorizing i acceptance of bid of "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF 1HE BID OF THE RHODES-BURFORD COMPANY IN Rhaies-Burford on furni- ture & authorizing City THE AMOUNT OF $6,477.93 FOR THE PURCHASE OF FURNISHINGS TO BE USED IN THE NEW RIVER- fanager to sign contract SIDE HOSPITAL, AND AUTHORIZING AND EMPOt7EHING JAMES P. SilITi, CITY MANAGER TO SIGN ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID FURNL3HINGS", be .adopted. Mayor Lackey stated purpose of meeting, to -mit: For purpose of allowing and approving payroll for the last half of April, 1940. Commissioner Baker offered motion that the payroll for the last half of April, 1940 be allowed in the amount of $9,743.50, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay same by checks drawn on the General Fund.
