At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners hold in the
Corrilssloners I Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 o'clock P.M.. on the
9th day of January, 1940, Mayor Lackey presided and upon call of the roll the following
answered to their names: Commissionors Baker, Blackburn, Donlan, Pulliam and
Mayor Lackey (5).
Minutes of the previous meetings were adopted as read.

Mayor Lackey offered motion that the City Manager be authorized to
np-reprinted x900 for Jan.
advance to the Family Service Society the sun of 0900.00 to cover necessary operations
durinS the month of IIanuary, 1940, and that the amount so advanced be ehareed to
charity appropriations for said year when the apportionment ordinance is adopted.
Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and

Colored Cor unity
Mayor Lackey offered motion that the petition of Jack Goodykoontz,
Recreational Center
appropriated $14 per mo.
Supervisor of Recreation for the Works Projects Administration dated January 9, 1940,
be received and filed, and that the sum of $14.00 per month be contributed by the City
of Paducch out of its General Fund to the Colored Community Recreational Center,
sponsored in conjunction with the VIPA, said monthly contribution to be paid on the
first of each month beginning February let, 1940, in part payment of the operating
expense of said project, and the contribution made hereunder to be charged against the
appropriation for charity in the year 1940 as provided in the apportionment ordinance,
and further, that the Community Recreation Center be granted the right and privilege to
use the room on the second floor of the old fire station located at the corner of 10th
& Johee Streets, provided it agrees to vacate said property when requested by the City
1.anager to do so. The appropriation of 014.00 per month to terminate June 1, 1940.
