HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 20, Page 196, August 3, 1939NO - 196 Proceedings City of Paducah Au,-ust 3, 1939 At a call meeting of the Board of Commiasioners hold in the Commissioners' Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at ?. o'clock P.M., on the 3rd day of 1Au3ust, 1939, Commissioner Bank presided as 7:ayor pro tem in the absence of Mayor I;'•,ashburn and upon call of the roll the followinn answered to their names: Commisaionors �1:elton, Pulliam and Mayor pro tem Hank (3). i Mayor pro tem Hank stated reason for call, to -wit: For the purpose of 1hearin;; charged prefevred against patrolman Elbridge Staudt and to transact any other business that may properly come before the meeting. Elbridge Staudt Mayor pro tem Bank offered the followingmotion: The `'it 2dann g suspended y g er havin rom3d t ysy in Police Deptjauspended for patrolman Elbridge Staudt from active duty in the police department on July 31, 1939, pending the hearing of charges preferred against him on Augunt 1, 1939 for Lefficieney and misconduct in the performance of his duty as a police officer, and the ;'said 3lbridge Staudt having been duly served with a copy of said charEen and notified ;that on August 3, 1939 at the Commiasioners' Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, itentucky, a hearing of said charges would be held, and the said Elbridgo Staudt having (failed to appear at said hearing, either in person or by counsel, and having failed to Ilanswer the charges filed against him or to make any defense thereto, and it appearing ;'from affidavits that the charges against the said Elbridge Staudt are true; - now move that the said Elbridge Staudt be found tuilty of the charges ,,as specified in the aforesaid notice served upon him, and that he be suspended from netive duty in the Police Department of theCity of Paducah for a period of 30 days from this date.
