HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 20, Page 119, November 14, 1938NO. 119 Proceedings of Board of Commissiorn.rs City of Paducah l:ov,�mber 14 1938 At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners hold in the Commissioners+ Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 3:30 o'clock P.M., on the 14th day of November, 1938, Mayor YJaahb rn presided and upon call of the roll the following answers to their names: Commissioners Hank, Melton, Pulliam, Stubblefield and Mayor :'Jashburn (5 ). i Minutes of the previous meetings were adopted as road. ;Tatar ?sin e;tended onv' 'I Commissioner Melton offered the follovring motion: Numerous petitioners Culler street having petitioned the City for an extension of water mains along Miller street from Turner street southwardly approximately 800 feet, and it appearing from said petition that the petitioners at5ree in writing and bind themselves to pay for water at a price equivalent to three (3) consumers for each 300 feet of such water main for a poriod of two years,- I now move that said petition be received and filed, and that the Conanissle era of Plater PJorka be authorized, empowered and instructed to extend said water main by the use of a six (6) inch main on Miller street from 'Turner street approximately 800 feet, and the City of Paducah agrees and binds itself by the adoption of this motion to pay the water rental as provided for in said franchise; said Payments to commence when said water main has been laid and water has been turned into same. Adopted on call of ,the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Hank, Melton, Pulliam, Stubblefield and Mayor 11ashburn (5)i 1/1 Boards policy in cbonLins Mayor Washburn offered the following motion: I move that the Board of Com - nares of streets �nisaionera adopt this motion as their policy pertaining to the'. changing of names of !public streets, boulevards, avenues or public posaways in the City of Paducah: That the IEoard will not consider a change in the name of either of the above type of passways until there has been filed with the Board of Commissioners a written petition requesting the change of name, said petition to be signed by not less than 75% of the property o z:ers abutting said street, boulevard, avenue or public passway, and that the filing of said petition shall in nowise be binding upon the Board of Commissioners to change the name of said street, if for any reason they deem it to the beat interest of the city not to cq-rant the request contained in said petition.
