ORDINANCE NO. 2002-7- %543
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF PADUCAH AND THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF
PADUCAH FOR HOUSING COMMUNITY OFFICER
WHEREAS, Paducah Housing Authority (PHA) has received Public
Housing Drug Elimination Program (PHDEP) funding in 2001 of which we allowed
money to perform management improvements within and upon Housing Authority of
Paducah properties for the health, safety, and general welfare of all tenants; and
WHEREAS, the PHA and the City have identified the need for greater
interaction between the PHA and the City of Paducah, Police Department and have
agreed to the establishment of two positions for Housing Community Officer (HCO); and
WHEREAS, the PHA and the City have reached an oral understanding
regarding the rights and obligations of the parties regarding the HCO's; and
WHEREAS, the parties have been performing pursuant to their oral
understanding, but desire to reduce said understanding to writing.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah authorizes and directs the Mayor to
execute an agreement between the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and the Housing Authority
of Paducah formally establishing two positions for Housing Community Officer.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
