Board reconvened at 4:Z0 P.M. Commissioner Bradshaw offered the follocring motion: "It appoaring Bids received that Jefferson Street, from 17th Street to 19th Street is already surfaced with j on Jeff.._t., 19th to 25th St. sheet asphalt, and it further appearing to the -Board of Commissioners that said Dardsurface. j building material is the most suitable material, in its judgment, to be used in surfacing said sbrect from 19th Street to 25th Street inclusive, under the contract to be lot today, which contract is referred to as Contract No.3, �I I nae move that the construction of said street be made by the use of n comsat, concrete base with gravel aggregate, and that the surface thereof consist of a layer 1? inch thick, knoc,•rr as binder course with stone aggregato, and aitll a surface course of sheet asphalt and being referred to in the proposal in the vid sheet as consisting of a 3 inch sheet asphalt pavement. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Bradshaw, Hannan, Nelson, Rutter and Mayor Lackey, (5). Commissioner Bradshaw offered the following motion: It appearing Jefferson St. from the examination of all of the bids on sheet asphalt, ahich appears to be 19th to 25th St. contract let to the most suitable material for the construction of the cirivowsy on :lost Jefferson outhc,rn Roads Co. for hard- Street under Contract No.3, that the bid of the southern Roads Company is the surface. lorest and best bid, I move that their proposal and bid on said contract to bard surface said street on a cement, concrete base under the plans and specifications stated with said bid with a 3 inch sheet asphalt paterlent, consisting of a 1$ In. binder course with stone aggregate and li in: of sheet asphalt on top thereof, and all other items in said proposal or bid, as sho-%m in the proposal, specification and bid of the snid Southorn Ronda Company, be accepted-- it being understood that said street ie to be surfaced with shoot asphalt upon a base as heroin pro- vided for and of a thickness and quality as required in the specification a; and I further move that the !-!.yor be authorized, empvacred and instructed to enter into a contract with the Southern Bonds Company for the construction of said ..t oet in nccorCarco with the plans and specifications and in nccor"tnnce silth the 4 rrn of the ordinance providing for said improve:-tcnt'.
