At an Adjourned i,;ectinG of the Board of Commissionern held in the Commission-
ers' Chamber in the City fall Building in the City of Paducah, Kentucky at 10 C'Clock
A.?d., on the 22nd day of L:ny, 1928, Mayor Lackey presided and upon the call of the
roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Bradahaw, Hnnnin, Nelson,
Futter and Zayor Lackey, (5).
Commissioner Bardshavi offered the following motion: The Board of
Comnissioners on yesterday, pursuant to notice, received and opened bids for the
construction of hard surface streets under what is described as Contract No.1., same
aids on
lard sur- being the street's embraced in the ordinances providing for the construction of Hard

op -nod Surface Streets on 4th or Keyers Street, from Broad Street to and including the

intersection with Clements Street, and on Bridge Street from Clements Street to the
east end of the 6th street Bridge.
And Contract No.2 being embraced in an ordinance for the improvement of

radison Street, from the nest property line of 5th Street to the East property line
of 8th Street, and 6th Street from the North property line of Uadison street to the
:'ouch property line of Triable Street and 7th Street, from the North property line
of -adison Street to the South property line of Clay Street, by hard surfacing
same, the following bids were received; all of which were accompanied by certified
checks as renuined by the advertisement:
Southern Roads Company bids an Contracts 1 & 2
D.J.Ryan Construction Company bids on Contracts 1 & 2
Carey -Reed Company bids on Contracts 1 & 2
Southern I11. uarry & Construction Co. bids on Contracts 1 & 2
M.F.Stone Construction Cc bids on Contracts 1 & 2
All of which bids together aith the certified checks accompaning same ears received
by the Board of Commissioners while in session yesterday, and I now move that said
bids, together with srid certified checks, be received and that srid bids be filed
and said checks delivered to the Cbmissioner of Public Finance to -be held to the
further orders of the Board. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners
Bralzbn:-, Hannin, Nelson, Rutter and Yayor Lackey, (5).
Commissioner Bradsh,:;, offered motion that it apneoring from the bids received
Contract on yesterday for the construction by hard surfacing strocts under Contracts Nos.l & 2,
