At a cell meeting of the board of Commissioners held in the Commissioners'
Chamber in the City Hall Building in the City of Paducah, Kentucky at 2:00 o'clock
P.M. on the 19th day of August, 193]., Mayor Lackey presided and upon call. of the
roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Bradshaw, Hannin,
Nelson, Rutter and Mayor Lackey, (5).
Mayor Lackey stnted reason for call, to -crit: For the purpose of passing an
ordinance to employ accountants to audit all city departments, and such other
business as may come before the board.
Cotton & Mayor Lackey offered the following motion: Having conferred with numerous

osition forr certified nutlic accountants regarding the making of an audit oV all of the

raking departments of the City of Paducah for the period of time commencing with the first

filed day of January,•1928; and being o f the opinion that the firm of Cotton & Eskew
is prepared to make said audit to the satisfaction of the City, and at a probable
saving in cost to the City, the said Cotton & Eakew having submitted their
proposal in writing, I now move that the proposition of Cotton & Eskew be received
and filed. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Bradshaw, Hannin,
Nelson, Rutter and Mayor Lackey, (5),
Ordinance Mayor Lackey offered motion to adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE
employing
Cotton & PROVIDING FOR A COMPLETE AUDIT OF ALL •OF THE ACCOUNTS IN ALL OF THE DEPARTMENTS
