Mayor pro tcm Nelson stated reason for call, to -wit: For the purpose of allowing payrolls for the last half of November, and such other business as may come before the Board. Commissioner Bradshaw offered the following motion: J.EI.Rouse N.14th St., Jeff Contracting Company, Contractors, having completed the construction of driveways, to Monroe- J.M. Rouse Cont.#4 curb and gutter on both sides of North 14th Street, from the north property line accepted of Jefferson Street to the south property line of Monroe Street, and notice having heretofore been given on the 26th day of November, 1929, that the Board of Co-missioners would in the forenoon on Nodday, December 2, 1929 inspect said driveways, curb and gutter and all work incident thereto, and would be in session at 2 o'clock P.M., on the 2nd day of December, 1929 in the Commissioners' Chamber in the -City Hall Building in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, to hear any complaint or protest with reference to the doing and acceptance of said work, and the cost thereof as set out in said notice, and said Board of Commissioners hnving so inspected said work and finding some has been completed in accordance with said contract, and no one having made or lodged.any complaint or protest with reference thereto as provided in said notice, or at all, I now move that said driveways4 curb and gutter and all work done in connection therewith be accepted; same being known as Driveways, Curb and Gutter Contract No.4, 1929, J.N.Rouse Conlrncting Compnny, contractors, and that the engineer's est.imnted cost of same be confirmed and that said estimates be turned over to the Commissioner of Public Finance for collection, and that the City 'olicitor be instructed to rrepare an ordinance assessing the property as shown by the Engineer's estimates. Commissioner Futter offered motion that the payrolls for the lost half of Payrolls November, 1929 be nllowed in the amount of $13,561.17 and the Commissioner of Public lest half i1ov.1929 Finance authorized to pay same. Mayor pro tem Nolson offered the folloiring motion: The National Rivers TTntionsl and Fnrtors Congress having informed the City of Paducah that it is to hold its Rivers & Harbors Twenty-fourth Convention in !•!ashington, D.C., on December loth and 11th, 1929, and Convention delegates requesting the City of Pnaucah to name and nppoint delegates to said convention, I now appointed move that the following citizens be appointed as delegates; any and all of whom may attend said convention as representatives of the City of Paducah, but with the understanding that the City of'Paducah is vrithout power or authority to defray the expenses or any part thereof, of delegates attending said convention: J.C.Utterbnek ill F.Bradshaw E.C.11olff Capt. %Y.L.Berry H.A.Petter Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Bra&haw, Hannin, Rutter and Mayor pro tem Nelson, (4). Mayor pro tem Nelson offered motion that the amended notice of lien filed Ellis Broa by Ellis Brothers against :Merkle Contracting Company for $1734.21 be received and cln'_m against filed.
