Ordinance ?Fire hose norrovied money "ros :land iar;^:erite, Steinhau.r Jessie Gott Rutter ;,11 —.9arnes At a Called L;eoting of the Board of Commissioners, hold in the Commissioners' chamber in the City Rall, in the city of Paducah, Kentucky, 11 ofclock A.tz., an January 5, 1928, Mayor Lackey prosided, and upon the call of the roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Bradshaw, Hannln, Nelson, Rutter and !.:ayor Lackey. (5) The Mayor stated reasons for call, to -wit: To consider i adjustment of claims of E.D.Thurman and others on account of sidewalk improvement taxes, and to take up any other business that may come before the Board. Dommissioner Bradshaw offered motion that VI.E. Cochran be relieved of the cost of the intersection at the N.E.corner of 21st Street and Jefferson Street abutting his property in the amount of $30.50. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas; 5. Mayor Lackey offered motion that the city assume $400.00 of the street and sidevialk assessment abutting the property of Lily Rieke Clark on South 17th Street. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas; 5. Mayor Lackey offered motion that Mrs Kathryn Hendren be appointed City Stenographer, to be effective as of the first Monday in January, 1928. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas; 5. Mayor Lackey offered motion that the Commissioner of Public ::'orks be authorized and instructed to cause the removal from the levee, between 'entucky Avenue and Jefferson Street, of all unsightly structures and obstructions and to employ such means as may be necessary to cause the removal of such � i structures and obstructions. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas; 5. Commissioner Nelson offered the following:°I move the adoption of the ordinance authorizing and empov:ering the Uommissioner of Public Safety to purchase Two Thousand (2000) Peet of 2m inch cotton, rubber -lined hose to be used in the Fire Department" Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas; 5. Commissioner Rutter offered motion that due to the fact that the Describer collections were not sufficient to take caro of the 2treet and Sevier Ponds and Interest Coupons maturing January 1st,1928, it bocomes necessary to obtLin money sufficient to take care of same until collections from property osners can be made. I move that the Commissioner of Pdblic,:Finance be authorized to barrow from the General Fund the necessary amount required to take caro of the p'!;rert of the Ponds and Interest Coupons, payable at the City National Bank, which may be paid as they mature. :;rmo to be repaid to General Fund as collected. �.dopted on the call of the roll: yeas; S.
