Minutes of the previous mor:tings rrere adootod as read. Commissioner Bradshaw offered the following motion: Carey=Reed Carey -Reed Co., Company having failed to satisfy the Soard of Com-Issioners that Street Paving request for extension deferred Contract No.l can be completed by the 15th day of October, 1929, pursuant to the request of said Carey -Reed Company for an extension of time on said contract, but having requested the' further consideration of said request, I now move that the request of Carey -Reed Company as contractor, and the Maryland Casualty Company as surety therein, for an extension of time to the 15th day of October next within which to complete Street Paving Contract No.l on Jefferson Street, from 25th Street' to 32nd Street, be further deferred until the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners on Monday, September 30,1929. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Bradshaw, Hannin, Nelson, Rutter and Mayor Lackey, (5); Commissioner Bradshaw offered the following motion: J.M.Rouae Clark St.,16th to Contracting Company having executed construction bond for the construction 17th St.Rouse Contract No.5 filed of sidewalk, 3rivewa7s, curb and gutter on Clark Street, from 16th Street to 17th Street, and having executed Contract No.5 covering said work, which bond has been approved by the Mayor and signed by J.M.Rouso Contracting Company as principal and the Maryland Casualty Company of Baltimore, Maryland, ha surety, and the contract approved by the City Solicitor, I now move that said contract and bond'be received and filed and that the certified bid check of J.M.Rou se Contracting Company be delivered to it by the Commissioner of Public finance. Street hard surfacing of street intersections and alleys on the Southern Roads Companyrs paving City's part Street Paving Contract No.5 on,13th Street, Cairo Road, etc., for amount of $5227.74 for inter- sections. be allowed, and the Commissioner of Public Finance authorized to pny same from the General Fund for deposit in the Special Street Improvement Fund in order to make final settlement with the contractor. Corr_•nissianer Rutter offered the following motion: I move the allowance Paducah, Tenn.& Ala of $1950.00 for six months interest and $4.88 collection charge, total $1954.68, which R.R.Bonds ' Interest will be due October 1,1929 on the Paducah, Tennessee & Alabama Railroad Bonds of $65,000.00 outstanding @ 6%, and that the Commissioner of Public Finance be authorized to pay same when due. Adopted on call of the roil: Yeas; Commissioners Bradshaw, Hearin, Nelson, Rutter and Mayor Lackey, (5). Arcadia Commissioner Rutter offered the follaiing motion: I move the allowance of Graded 'chool $367.50 for six months interest on the Arcadia Graded School Bonds of 1926 issue of Bonds41926 ) int^rest $14,000.00 due October 1, 1929, payable at the Mechanics Bank & Trust Company, and that the Counissioner of Public Finance be authorized to pay same when due and charge to the School Bond Interest Fund. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Comsission(rs Bradshaw, Hannin, Nelson, Rutter and Mayor Lackey, (5). Commissioner Rutter offered motion that the Commissioner of Public Finance Arcadia Graded to authorized to draw a check on the Arcadia Graded School Bond Sinking Fund for amount School Bonds of $4000.00 to pay Arcadia School Bonds of 1926, which will mature on October 19 19290 payable at the Mechanics Trust & Savings Bank. Petter Supply Company for plain angle iron 2x2x3-16 Inches, H.A.retter Supply Company 9,000 feet cut in 10 foot lengths, at the price of $557.27 is the lowest and best bid, I now move that said bid of the said Henry A. Potter Supply Company be accepted; aryl that the Mayor be authorized to forthTrith purchase from the said Henry A. Patter Sunply Company said angle iron in the descriptions and cuantities aforesrid, and that the some be Doid for out of funds av-ilable for that purpose.
