Mayor Lackey stated reason for call, to -crit: For the purpose of receiving bids on alley between Broadway and Kentucky Avenue and on Bridge Street from "est end of Island Creek Bridge to west nroperty lino of Brand Strect, and such other L',.tslne-s as mn^ come before said Board, Commissioner "clson offered motion that the follo*aing bi:'s for the Alloy- construction of concrete alley lying between Brondway and Kentucky Avenue and extending bet>een Bd, L, ky back approximately 322.50 feet from Fourth Street towards Fifth Street, togethor r•ith Ave -Bide Opened all necess•'ry curbs, :utters, driveways, manholes, intakes, catch basins, savior and Contract No,g, -rain pipe, under Contract No.2, be received and filed, and that the certified chocks acconpsnin,- same be delivered to the Commissioner of Public Finance to be held subject to the further orders of the Board or Commissioners: J.M. ALOE .D44 �f D Commissioner l'elaon offered the following motion: I move that the Bridge St.Island construction of street Contract No.5, being for the construction and re. Creek Bridge to to lsrond qtr et- construction of the driveway on 1 -ridge Stroot from the Vlest end of the Island material deter- mined Creels Bridge to the 17est property line of Brand Stre::t, including the intersection at _ridge and Broad Streets, be made by the use.of a cement concrete base e:ith gravel aggregate, end that the surface thereof consist of a layer 1�g' inches thick, known as binder course with atone aggregate, and with a surface course of sheet asphalt, and being referred to in the proposal in the bid sheet as consisting of a 3 inch sheet asphalt pavement. Adopted on en11 of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Hannin, Nelson, Ruttw and 110yor Lackey, (4). Commissioner Nelson offered the following motion: It npnenring " Willey between Bdw and Ky. Ave -4th from the examination of all the bids submitted for the construction of the alley to 5th St., entrset No.2 awarded lying between Brosawrny and Kentucky Avenue and extending back approximately Rouse 33^.50 feet from Fourth Street towards Fifth Street, being Contract No.2, same to be constructed with concrete, that the bid of J.M.Rouse Contracting Company is the lowest end best bid, I now move that the proposal and bid on said Contract Ho.2, submitted by J.1."•.Fouse Contracting Company, to hard surface said alley with 7.inch concrete slab, with gravel aggregate, and all other items in said proposal or bid, as shown in the porposal, specifications and bid of J.11.Rouse Contracting Company, be accepted; and I further move that the =:ayor be authorized, empowered and instructed to enter into a contract with the said J.M.Rouse Contracting Company for the constructio- of said alley in accordance with the plans and specificat one and in accordance with the terms of the ordinnnce providing for said improvement, and that the certified checks of the unsuccessful bidders be returner, to them.
