Ordinance providing for the improvement of Baumer Avenue, or "A" Street. Member Rieke offered motion that as there are other funds on which we can drawl, the Board of Public works are instructed to out down the expenses of the Street. Dept.. Adopted on the call of the rolll: zeas; (7), Member Dunbar offered motion that a retaining curb be constructed in front of Areadia.School, to cost of same to be about $90.00, same to be charged to New Construction. Same offered the following: WHEREAS, the property owners in Storm water Sewer Zone "B" have very generally asked that the property laterals be not installed, for the reason that they are not essential, and the Elimination of same will reduce the construction expense to said zone; and, WHEREAS, it is important that the contractor be instbucted promptly with reference to such elimination, in order that such construction may be completed at.. the earliest possible moment; but it is necessary to have further time to ascertain whether an%r of such property owners have not signed agreement therefor; THEREFORE, I move that the matter be referred to a special eommitttee, composed of the Mayor, the President of the Aldermanie Board and the President of the Councilmanic Board, with full powereto act in giving instructions to the contractor relative to the elimination of said property latera ls, pursuant to request of owners of property in said zone. Member Dunbar offered the following: WHEREAS, the City Engineer has 4th St. Bridge over made an investigation *ith reference to the necessity of repairing "Ourt Street Island Creek. Bridge over Island Creek by removing the blocks therefrom, and placing in lieu thereof the necessary binder with a one and one half inch sheet asphlat top, and said engineer having reported that such repairs are neoessargrto protect the bridge structure, and that an emergency exists which r -:quires such repairs; THEREFORE, I move that the General Council do hereby declar-O that such work is necessary, and that an emergeno$ exists by reason of the public welfare, the public safety and the best interest of the City, which requires that such repairs be made; and further that the matter be referred to the Mayor of said City, with full power to act in conjunction with the Board of Public Works in the game offered motion to concur in the action of the Board of Councilmen Mrs. J.B.
