At a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen held on the Third Floor of the City Hall, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, September the 20th, 1926, President Hannin presided, and upon the call of the roll the following answered to their names: Hannin, Bell, Choate, Cole, Dunbar and Tyree. (6). Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read. Pay roll. Member Bell offered motion that the regular monthly pay roll in the amount of $6813.32 be allowed. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (6):. Same offered motion that claims in the amount of $8881.39 be allowed. Claims. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (6). Member Bell offered motion that claims and pay rolls from the following special Special Fund be allowed: Hard surface street fund.... 7187.49; Street right of way Fund pay rollsand fund....$688.30; Island Creek Bridge Fund ....7320.00. Same offered motion that allowance of ;31950.00 be made to pay coupon Pad.Tenn. interest due October 1st, 1926, on the bond issue known as the Paducah, Tennessee and & Ala. R. R. Co. Alabama Railroad Company. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (6). Same offered motion that the claims paid through the Cashierts Fund in Cashier's Fund. the amount of X5112.60, be allowed& Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (6). Same offered motion that the Special Street Improvement Bonds and Coupons Special St.Imnrov. cancelled in the amount of x43.14 be allowed. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (6). Bonds & Coupons. Same offered motion that the initial payment of ;1750.00 on the Pierce- Pierce- Arrow Rook & Ladder Truck, approved by the Joint Finance Committee be allowed, and the Arrow Hook & Ladder Clerk authorized to issue proper warrant on the Treasurer, same to be charged to the Truck. Fire Department, and that action as to balance due be deferred to the next meeting of the General Council. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (6). Same offered motion to receive and file communication from Special Koller Committee in regard to settling controversy between the Koller Plumbing Company P1umb.Co. and City of Paducah, relative to repairing and completing relief sewer in Sevier District No. 2, and Island Creek Re -location Sewer. Member Cole offered motion that the matter of faulty intake on Jefferson Faulty Street, near 19th Street, be referred to City Engineer with instructions to have same intake on Jefferson attended to. Member Cole read an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE AND ESTABLISH A FRANCHISE TO CON - Ordinance. Amending STRUCT, OWN, ACQUIRE, MAINTAIN AND USE A WATER WORKS PLANT AND WATER DISTRIBUTING SYSTEM Sec.13 of Water Franchise, WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF PADUOAA H, ND INVEST.iNG Tall: PURCHASER THEREOF IVI'PH THE RIGHTS, Po"'ER AND PRIVILEGES HEREIN SET FORTH, AND IMPOSING UPON SUCH PURCHASER THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SET OUT IN THIS ORDINANCE", DULY ADOPTED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALUCAH, KEN'PUCKY, ON THE 22ND DAY OF MAY, 1925. Same offered motion to concur in the recommendation of the Board of Geo.W.Katterjohn Public Works and Joint 6treet Committee, in awarding dontract Pio. 2 for ditveways, & Son, curb and gutter, to Geo., W. KAtter,john & Son, subject to j provision set forth in She specifications and as shown on plans. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas(61 Same offered motion to concur in the recommendation of the Board of E. L. Ross. Public Works awarding Contract No. 2 for gravel streets to E. L. Ross, subject to the provisions set forth in the specifications and as shown on plans, with the understanding that the two blocks between 19th and 21st Streets, be omitted from this contract. Member Dunbar offered motion that the bill of $BB.50 for window Arcade Drug Co. broken and damage done to the Arcade Drug Company be referred to the Police & Fire Committee to investigate and report back. Middleton County bo pay that the Board of Connby Commissioners have agreed to pay for one half of the half of cost of street around cost of the construction of hard surface streets on Washington Street from Court House. the east property line of 7th Street to the West property line of 6th Street, and on 6th Street from the south property line of Washington to the north property line of Clark Street.
