HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-4-6496249 ORDINANCE NO. 2002-4-6496 ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY FINALIZING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE SAID CORPORATE LIMITS WHEREAS, a tract of property adjacent to the present city limits, located adjacent to Alben Barkley Drive (U.S. 62), is urban in character and suitable for development for urban purposes without unreasonable delay; and WHEREAS, the property is contiguous to the present corporate limits of the City, and it is desirable and necessary to annex the hereinafter described property; and WHEREAS, said tract of land is not within the boundary of another incorporated city; and WHEREAS, the owners have requested such annexation in writing to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is the intent of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, to finalize the annexation of the hereinafter described property, and therefore that the hereinafter described property be annexed to, and made a part of the City of Paducah, Kentucky; said real property being more particularly and accurately described as follows: A parcel of land located on the north side of U.S. Highway 62 (Blandville Road) west of Friendship Road, Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at an iron pin set at a fence corner post in the north right of way line of U.S. Highway 62, said point being the common corner,to the lands now or formerly owned by The TrusteeEl"of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church, said point being located 1365' more or less west from the center of Friendship Road; Thence, with the north right of way line of U.S. Highway 62, South 59 degrees 49 minutes 10 seconds West, a distance of 270.52 feet to a point; thence, continuing with the said right of way line, South 60 degrees 13 minutes 52 seconds West, a distance of 340.15 feet to a point; thence, continuing with the said right of way line, South 61 degrees 54 minutes 57 seconds West, a distance of 23.95 feet to a point; thence, continuing with the said right of way line, South 68 degrees 19 minutes 47 seconds West, a distance of 131.06 feet to a point; thence, continuing with the said right of way line, South 70 degrees 27 minutes 56 seconds West, a distance of 187.80 feet to a point in a paved drive; thence, leaving the north right of way line of U.S. Highway 62, North 74 degrees 17 minutes 40 seconds West, a distance of 340.66 feet to a point; thence, North 74 degrees 17 minutes 40 seconds West, a distance of 154.50 feet to a %" rebar and cap; thence, South 18 degrees 26 minutes 43 seconds West, a distance of 263.24 feet to a concrete right of way marker in the north right of way line of U.S. Highway 62; thence, with the north right of way line of U.S. Highway 62, South 83 degrees 19 minutes 38 seconds West, a distance of 14.32 feet to a found iron pin; thence, leaving the north right of way line of U.S. Highway 62, North 13 degrees 37 minutes 12 seconds East, a distance of 268.57 feet to a found 2" iron pipe; thence, North 3 degrees 03 minutes 01 seconds East, a distance of 628.85 feet to a found iron pin; thence, with a line witnessed by a fence, South 89 degrees 19 minutes 10 seconds East, a distance of 442.98 feet to a found iron pin; thence, with a 250 line witnessed by a fence, North 24 degrees 20 minutes 29 seconds East, a distance of 246.80 feet to a found 3"x 5" cut stone; thence, South 70 degrees 12 minutes 36 seconds East, a distance of 195.20 feet to a %" rebar and cap; thence, South 66 degrees 54 minutes 38 seconds East, a distance of 195.84 feet to a found iron pin; thence, South 66 degrees 12 minutes 06 seconds East, a distance of 108.69 feet to a found 2" iron pipe; thence, South 68 degrees 25 minutes 05 seconds East, a distance of 110.11 feet to a" rebar and cap; thence, South 67 degrees 30 minutes 55 seconds East, a distance of 191.91 feet to a %" rebar and cap set in a fence line; thence, with a fence line, South 12 degrees 36 minutes 20 seconds West, a distance of 135.36 feet to a %" rebar and cap set at a fence angle point; thence, with a fence line, South 27 degrees 32 minutes 27 seconds East, a distance of 147.89 feet back to the point of beginning. The above described parcel contains 20.5192 acres more or less according to a survey prepared by Gerald M. Kight (Ky.Reg.L.S. 2547) and dated March 4, 2002. The above described property is that as conveyed to John J. McRaith Bishop of the Diocese of Owensboro from Betty J. Barclay and husband Robert June 26, 1992 as of record in Deed Book 772 Page 615 and as conveyed from Calvin T. Smith and wife Lois June 22, 1993 as of record in Deed Book 792 Page 124 of the records of the McCracken County Kentucky Court Clerk. Prepared by: Gerald M. Kight Ky. Reg.L.S. 2547 SECTION 2.
