HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-4-6494247 ORDINANCE NO. 2002-4-6494 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO PAY THE CITY'S PORTION OF THE LOCAL CASH MATCHING AMOUNT FOR THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND GRANT TO McCRACKEN COUNTY FISCAL COURT FOR THE McCRACKEN COUNTY YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES WITH THE McCRACKEN COUNTY YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the Soccer Association is a non-profit organization, providing quality recreation facilities and activities to the residents of the City and County; and WHEREAS, the McCracken County Fiscal Court has been approved for a 50-50 cost-sharing Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant on behalf of the Soccer Association; and WHEREAS, the grant will be used to fund construction of a new soccer field with sprinkling system, three large outdoor shelters, and a road and parking lot; and WHEREAS, the services provided by the Soccer Association provide a direct benefit to the citizens of the City of Paducah; and WHEREAS, the total cost of the project is approximately $56,000; and WHEREAS, the Soccer Association is required to obtain $28,000 in local matching funds; and funds. KENTUCKY: WHEREAS, the Fiscal Court has agreed to contribute $10,000; and WHEREAS, the Soccer Association has agreed to contribute $8,000 of their own NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah authorizes the Finance Director to pay the City's portion of the local cash matching amount of $10,000 for the Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant to McCracken County Fiscal Court for the McCracken County Youth Soccer Association Program. SECTION 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an agreement for services with the McCracken County Youth Soccer Association for construction of a new soccer field, sprinkler system, outdoor shelters, roadway and parking lot to be used by the residents of the City and County. 8056. SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged to account no. 001-0106-511- SECTION 4.
