AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO OBTAIN AN ONLINE
BULLETPROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP MATCHING GRANT THROUGH THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah desires to obtain a matching grant from the U. S.
Department of Justice, which funds will be used by the Police Department for the purchase of
personal body armor for police officers.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City is hereby authorized and directed to obtain an online
Bulletproof Vest Partnership Matching Grant through the U.S. Department of Justice for use by
the Police Department. This grant will reimburse the City fifty percent (50%) of the cost for
purchase of body armor for police officers.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Account No. 040-1616-521-
2307 (P00026).
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
