At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held in Room 216 at the Emerging
Technology Building at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, Mayor Kaler presided,
and upon call of the roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Abraham, Gault, Rhodes, Wilson and Mayor Kaler (5).
MOTION
R & F NOTICES
Commissioner Gault offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Wilson, that the Notices
of Called Meeting for the Board of Commissioners for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9,
2013, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Abraham, Gault, Rhodes, Wilson and
Mayor Kaler (5).
WORKSHOP
The following topics were discussed:
NATIONAL CITIZENS SURVEY
Mark Thompson, Parks Services Director and Jon Perkins, Finance Director led the
discussion.
Questions chosen by Commission will be based on the following:
a. Recycling
b. Visitation to Downtown Events
C. Please indicate how important, it at all, each of the following is to you in
your decision to live in Paducah
SPORTS COMPLEX -WHERE WE HAVE BEEN -WHERE DO WE GO FROM

Park Services Director gave a presentation; a copy is in the minute file.
REVIEW OF PADUCAH STRATEGIC PLAN
City Manager Jeff Pederson led the discussion. The Commission wants to amend the
Goals & Objectives and obtain assistance from an outside consultant.
IDENTIFY ITEMS FOR FUTURE COMMISSION WORKS SESSIONS
Mayor Kaler led the conversation for selection of topics.

• Property Maintenance (Residential and Commercial Abandoned Property)

• Riverfront Project Status Update (fill and boat launch projects)

• Updates to Demolition/Preservation Ordinances

• Rental Occupancy Ordinance Review

The meeting adjourned approximately 5:00 p.m.
