AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE
URBAN RENEWAL AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO ACCEPT THE
BID OF BRANDON OWENS CONSTRUCTION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW HOME
AT 1527 MONROE STREET, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
\ CONTRACT FOR SAME
WHEREAS, on October 26th, 2012, the City of Paducah solicited bids on behalf
of the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency (URDCA) for construction of a new
home located at 1527 Monroe Street via letters to firms listed on the Qualified Contractors list
(sent October 1761, 2012) and public notice published in the Paducah Sun on October 26`x, 2012;
and
WHEREAS, bids were opened on November 6th, 2012, by the Paducah Planning
Department and reviewed by the URCDA on November 151, 2012; and
WHEREAS, the URCDA recommends the City of Paducah accept the bid of
Brandon Owens Construction in the amount of $137,887.00 for the construction of a new home
located at 1527 Monroe Street construction line of credit provided by Banterra Bank.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah approves the recommendation of the
Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency to accept the bid of Brandon Owens
Construction, in the amount of $137,887.00, for the construction of a new home at 1527 Monroe
Street, as part of the 2012 HOME Project. Said bid is in substantial compliance with the bid
specifications, advertisement for bids, and as contained in the bid dated November 6, 2012.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract with
Brandon Owens Construction for the construction of a new home at 1527 Monroe Street,
according to the specifications, bid proposal and all contract documents heretofore approved and
incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 3. This expenditure will be funded through 2012 HOME Project,
Project account number CD0081, account number 008-1216-513-2307.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant
