AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND
EARNEST C. VIA
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an
Employment Agreement between the City of Paducah and Earnest C. Via for
employment as Public Works Director for the City of Paducah.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the
requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the
City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist as to the execution of this
Agreement. Specifically, in order for Mr. Via to have sufficient time to notify his present
employer and begin employment with the City on September 7, 2004.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the first reading of
this Ordinance.
