AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER #2 WITH JIM SMITH CONTRACTING CO., INC., FOR
THE CITY OF PADUCAH'S 2003 STREET RESURFACING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2002-3-6643 to enter into a
contract with Jim Smith Contracting Co., Inc., in the amount of $1,087,995.00 for the City of
Paducah's 2003 Street Resurfacing Program and established the completion date as
December 31, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2003-11-6715 approved Change Order No. 1 in
the amount of $320,000, to complete the Lowertown Infrastructure Improvement project,
increasing the total contract amount to $1,407,995.00 and granted a time extension to March
1, 2004; and
WHEREAS, due to the weather and time constraints, the time for completion
of the has been extended from March 1, 2004 to April 2, 2004.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute Change
Order No. 2 for the City of Paducah's 2003 Street Resurfacing Program granting a time
extension from March 1, 2004 to April 2, 2004.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursikaftt4e-Y.RSC pter 424.
