HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-4-6800ORDINANCE NO. 2004-4-6800 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CAMPAIGN GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE KENTUCKY STATE POLICE FOR SUPPORT OF THE `BUCKLE UP KENTUCKY IT'S THE LAW & IT'S ENFORCED" CAMPAIGN BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Campaign Grant Agreement with the Kentucky State Police for a Kentucky State Police Governor's Highway Safety Program reimbursement grant in the amount of $10,000. Said grant funds shall be expended for overtime traffic enforcement activities provided by police officers in the Paducah Police Department between May 24, 2004, and June 6, 2004, in support of the "Buckle Up Kentucky It's the Law & It's Enforced" campaign. SECTION 2. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefor, the City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist as to the execution of the Campaign Grant Agreement. Specifically, execution of the agreement is required by April 23, 2004. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the first reading of this Ordinance. ATTEST: jlnno�k Tammara S.
