ORDINANCE NO. 2008-6-7425
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO PAY FOR
THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF RADIO DISPATCH
CONSOLES FOR THE PADUCAH-MCCRACKEN COUNTY 911 EMERGENCY
COMMUNICATIONS CENTER AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL
DOCUMENTS RELATING TO SAME
WHEREAS, a written determination has been made by the City Manager that due
to the 911 system currently being operated with Motorola equipment and it being necessary to
replace the antiquated radio dispatch consoles for the operation of the Paducah -McCracken
County 911 Emergency Communication Center and the only designated agent is Jackson
Purchase Two -Way; therefore, making this a sole source purchase pursuant to Sec. 2-659 of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes the Finance Director to
make payment to Motorola, in the amount of $176,188.80, for purchase and installation of radio
dispatch consoles for the Paducah -McCracken County 911 Emergency Communications Center
and authorizes the Mayor to execute all documents relating to same.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to E-911 Communication
Equipment account.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
