A RESOLUTION OF THE MCCRACKEN COUNTY FISCAL COURT AND
THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH IN SUPPORT OF THE
WIDENING AND REALIGNMENT OF THE OLIVET CHURCH ROAD IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT
WHEREAS, previous improvements to Olivet Church Road including a new
bridge and a road widening set the stage for a second phase of improvements to the Road; and
WHEREAS, local planning efforts began in 2004 which culminated in this Project
being classified as the #1 Priority Project by both McCracken County and the City of Paducah in
their respective 2006 Transportation Priorities as submitted to the Kentucky Transportation
Cabinet; and
WHEREAS, in February of 2006 an Inter -local Agreement for project
implementation was entered into between McCracken County and the City of Paducah, and
subsequently was approved by the Kentucky Governor's Office for Local Development; and
WHEREAS, the final design is complete, right -of -way acquisitions are nearly
complete, and utility easements are identified and in progress.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the McCracken County Fiscal
Court and the Paducah City Commission hereby proclaim to the Commonwealth of Kentucky
Transportation Cabinet that both are in agreement that the Project should move forward and that
final i e ing fer p constru be authorized.
