AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF NORTH AMERICAN SALT
COMPANY, A COMPASS MINERALS COMPANY, FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ITS
REQUIREMENT OF BULK ICE CONTROL ROCK SALT, AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City accepts the bid of North American Salt Company, A
Compass Minerals Company, for sale to the City of its requirement of bulk ice control rock salt
for use on city thoroughfares, for the remainder of the City's 2012-2013 Fiscal Year, ending June
30, 2013, at the given units prices. Said bid is in substantial compliance with the bid
specifications, and as contained in the bid of North American Salt Company, A Compass
Minerals Company, of September 20, 2012, for the following prices:

SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract with North
American Salt Company, A Compass Minerals Company, subsequent to the recommendation of
the City Engineer -Public Works Director, for sale to the City of the material authorized in
Section 1 above, according to the specifications, bid proposal and all contract documents
heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid of September 20, 2012. Said contract contains
the option to renew for two one-year renewals, each ending at the end of the fiscal year on June
30, 2014 and June 30, 2015, respectfully, upon the mutual agreement of both parties.
SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged to account no. 001-2202-531-3922,
De -Icing Materials.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
