HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-2-7077634 ORDINANCE NO. 2006-2-7077 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CH. 94, SOLID WASTE, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Sec. 94-32, "Commercial account billing," of Chapter 94, "Solid Waste," of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby amended to read as follows: "94-32. Commercial account billing. D The fees authorized herein shall be collected by the city water works by affixing the amount of same to the monthly water bill. Said fees shall be determined by the size of the commercial waste container and the frequency of pickup. There shall be a fee or charge for any new accounts for initiation and/or reactivation of a previously closed commercial account. Short-term commercial container service for construction sites and other temporary needs mawprovided by the City. The City Commission may establish from time to time by municipal order charges for these construction containers to reflect the cost of �' container delivery and pick-up and the cost of disposing the materials placed in the container." SECTION 2. That Ch. 94, Solid Waste, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby amended by creating Sec. 94-36, "Special Services," as follows: (a) The City mayprovide call-back service to residential and commercial customers whose container was not in its designated pickup locations or was not accessible when the City's collection vehicle made its scheduled stop at the location. The City Commission may establish charges for call-back service by municipal order. (b) Back door pickup service mawprovided for handicap and non - handicap residents. The City Commission may establish charges for said service by municipal order. (c) Rollout containers will be provided to private parties and for-profit ' events. There will be no charge to o neighborhood associations or churches that provide a seven-day notice request. The City Commission may establish charges for said service by municipal order. 635 SECTION 3. That Ch. 94, Solid Waste, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby amended by creating Sec. 94-37, "Compost," as follows: 94-37. Compost. (a) The Cit Manager will establish policies to regulate the size and type of materials accepted for disposal at the City's Compost Yard. (b) The City Commission may establish charges for the disposal of green waste at the City p v Com ost Yard and ma establish exceptions to the charge schedule for City residents bringing materials from their homes to the Compost Yard. (c) The City Commission may establish from time to time by municipal order charges for the purchase of wood chips and compost from the Compost Yard. SECTION 4.
