HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-3-6942382 ORDINANCE NO. 2005-3-6942 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO ENTER INTO A QUITCLAIM DEED TO THE PADUCAH-MCCRACKEN COUNTY CONVENTION CENTER CORPORATION WHEREAS the City desires to promote the convention and trade show industry, the tourist industry, support cultural, economic development, educational and leisure activity programs, which. serve the public purpose and render a public service; and WHEREAS, the Paducah -McCracken County Convention Center Corporation intends to enter into two Amended and Restated Lease Agreements with British American Properties Paducah, LLC, concerning the property located North of the City of Paducah floodwall upon which is built those improvements commonly known as the Executive Inn, the Julian M. Carroll Convention Center, and the Paducah Expo Center; and WHEREAS, the City owns some, but not all, of the property located North of the City Of Paducah floodwall upon which is built those improvements commonly known as the Executive Inn, the Julian M. Carroll Convention Center, and the Paducah Expo Center; and WHEREAS, the Paducah -McCracken County Convention Center Corporation owns some, but not all, of the property located North of the City of Paducah floodwall upon which is built those improvements commonly known as the Executive Inn, the Julian M. Carroll Convention Center, and the Paducah Expo Center; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City to convey by Quitclaim Deed to the Paducah - McCracken County Convention Center Corporation any interest in that property located North of the right of way to the floodwall upon which these improvements are constructed. NOW, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City of Paducah, Kentucky, as follows: Section 1. The City Commission does hereby approve the Quitclaim Deed between the City and the Paducah -McCracken County Convention Center Corporation in substantially the same form attached hereto as Exhibit A and made a part hereof. The Mayor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby authorized to execute and approve said Quitclaim Deed, and to execute all documents related to the Quitclaim Deed with such changes not inconsistent with this Ordinance and not substantially adverse to the City as maybe approved by the official executing the same on behalf of the City. The approval of such changes by said official, and that such are not substantially adverse to the City, shall be conclusively evidenced by the execution of such instrument by such official. a3c] Section 2.
