AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF H & G CONSTRUCTION CO.,
INC., FOR THE CITY'S 2005 CALENDAR YEAR STREET RESURFACING PROGRAM,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accepts the bid of H & G Construction
Co., Inc., in the amount of $685,065.00 for the City's 2005 calendar year resurfacing program,
said bid being in substantial compliance with the bid specifications and advertisement for bids,
and as contained in the bid of H & G Construction Co., Inc., of May 10, 2005.
SECTION 2. The City of Paducah accepts the bid of H & G Construction Co.,
Inc., for roadway excavation and reconstruction at the following hourly rates:

SECTION 3. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract with H &
G Construction Co., Inc., for street resurfacing and roadway excavation and construction as set
out in Sections 1 and 2 above, according to the specifications, bid proposal and all contract
documents heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 4. This expenditure shall be charged to the Street Resurfacing and
Rehabilitation Account.

SECTION 5. In order to complete the required work in a timely manner this
construction season, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall become
effective immediately with one reading.
