AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT RENEWAL WITH COMMERCIAL WASTE DISPOSAL, INC., D.B.A.
CWDI, FOR DISPOSAL OF CITY AND COUNTY MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE,
AND CERTAIN OTHER WASTE
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 94-11-5220, adopted by the City of Paducah n
December 12, 1994, authorized the execution of a contract between the County and City
of Paducah and Waste Disposal, Inc., D.B.A. CWDI. The term of this agreement was for
a period of ten (10) years, commencing July 1, 1995, concluding June 30, 2005, with two
(2) consecutive five (5) year renewal terms to follow immediately thereafter if such
renewals are mutually agreed upon by the parties.
WHEREAS, the bid specifications contained a provision providing for the
renewal of said contract for two consecutive five year periods; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to exercise said option to renew for a period
of five years, ending June 30, 2010.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract
renewal for a period of five (5) years with Waste Disposal, Inc., D.B.A. CWDI for
disposal of city and county municipal solid waste, and certain other waste with the
following exception; discontinuance of the recyclable transport service and the use of
recyclable convenience centers. Said contract is in substantial compliance with the bid
specifications, advertisement for bids and bids dated December 12, 1994.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to various landfill
accounts.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS)Chapter 424,.E
