AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 WITH FLORENCE & HUTCHESON, INC., FOR THE
PECAN DRIVE BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2002-10-6584 to enter into a
contract with Florence & Hutcheson, Inc. in the amount of $295,279.00 for the Pecan Drive
Bridge Construction Project; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2003-8-6685 approved Change Order No. 1 for an
increase in the amount of $17,800.00 for required additional environmental studies that were
performed at Perkins Creek and Crooked Creek bridge crossings, increasing the total contract
price to $313,079.00; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2003-12-6736 approved Change Order No. 2 for an
increase in the amount of $21,500.00 for construction observation services of the Pecan Drive
Bridge increasing the total contract price to $334,579.00; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 3 is required for an increase in an amount not to
exceed $61,024.00 for required additional surveying and design services to relocate a portion of
the mainline roadway at the intersection of Pecan Drive and Alben Barkley Drive and in order to
finalize the project for the above referenced contract, the total contract price will increase to
$395,603.00. Due to a transfer of state funds from McCracken County the City will be
C) reimbursed for the additional design fees.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute Change
Order No. 3 for an increase in the amount of $61,024.00 with Florence & Hutcheson, Inc., for
required additional surveying and design services to relocate a portion of the mainline roadway at
the intersection with Alben Barkley Drive and to finalize the Pecan Drive/Buckner Lane
Roadway project, increasing the total cost to $395,603.00.

SECTION 2. This shall be charged to project account Pecan Roadway Design Act
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
