ORDINANCE NO. 2005-4-6950
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF WASTEQUIP HOLT
FOR THE PURCHASE OF FRONT -LOADING REFUSE CONTAINERS AND,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sec. 2-645 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, the Public Works Department advertised for sealed bids on
January 30, 2005, for the purchase of front -loading refuse containers; and
WHEREAS, upon the bid opening date of February 18, 2005, no bids were
received from responsive and responsible bidders and pursuant to Sec. 2-654(4c) of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, the City Manager now determines
that competitive negotiation is needed to carry out the procurement of front -loading
refuse containers; and
responding.
WHEREAS, competitive negotiations were entered into with two bidders
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accepts the bid of Wastequip Holt
in an amount not to exceed $50,000.00, for furnishing the City with 64 refuse containers,
of various sizes, for use by the Public Works Department/Solid Waste Division, said
purchase being in compliance with the bid specifications, and as contained in the bid of
Wastequip Holt of February 21, 2005.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract with
Wastequip Holt for furnishing the City with 64 refuse containers as authorized in Section
1 above, according to the specifications, bid proposal, and all contract documents
heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 3. This purchase shall be charged to the Commercial
Collection account.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
