ORDINANCE NO. 2006-12-7216
AN ORDINANCE OFFICIALLY NAMING A NEWLY CONSTRUCTED
ROADWAY FROM ALBEN BARKLEY DRIVE TO THE VILLAGE SQUARE
DRIVE/JAMES-SANDERS BOULEVARD INTERSECTION TO PECAN DRIVE AND
ESTABLISHING PECAN COURT AS THE CUL-DE-SAC AREA OFF PECAN DRIVE
WHEREAS, the construction of the Pecan Drive — Buckner Lane Roadway
Improvement Project has been completed; and
WHEREAS, the public is utilizing the new roadway and it is necessary to name
the newly constructed road and the existing reconstructed portions of Buckner Lane and Pecan
Drive for address clarification and emergency response.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the name of a newly constructed roadway from Alben
Barkley Drive to the Village Square Drive/James-Sanders Boulevard intersection,
including the reconstructed portions of Buckner Lane and Pecan Drive be officially
designated as Pecan Drive and the new cul-de-sac area off Pecan Drive be named Pecan
Court.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the
requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the
.. City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist due to the roadway being open to
the public and creating the immediate need of the installation of street identification signs and
consistent addressing schematic for emergency response.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the first reading of
this Ordinance.
