AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT FOR A 2006 KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT GRANT
REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM AWARD FROM THE KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION
CABINET
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah applied for a Transportation Enhancement Grant
Reimbursement Program Award adopted by Municipal Order No. 1187 on January 10, 2006, for
the Greenway Trails Project; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has approved the application
and is now ready to award this grant.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Grant
Agreement with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for a Transportation Enhancement Grant
Reimbursement Program Award up to an amount of $500,000.00 for the Greenway Trails
Project. This portion of the project is for the construction of the trail along the floodwall from
Schultz Park to the Brookport Bridge. Cash match in the amount of $140,000 will be from the
bequest of the Boyles Estate through the Community Foundation of West Kentucky.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged through project account PA 0056.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
