AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT FOR AN ARTS BUILD COMMUNITIES GRANT FROM THE KENTUCKY
ARTS COUNCIL FOR THE SUMMER RECREATION DAY CAMP PROGRAM OFFERED

THROUGH THE PARKS SERVICES DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah applied for an Arts Build Communities Grant
adopted by Municipal Order No. 1202 on March 14, 2006, for the Summer Recreation Day Camp
Program; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Arts Council has approved the application and is now
ready to award this grant.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Grant
Agreement with the Kentucky Arts Council for an Arts Build Communities Grant in the amount
of $5,000.00 for the Summer Recreation Day Camp Program offered through the Parks Services
Department. The required match of $5,000 will be through in-kind services and the Parks
Services budget.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged through account PA 48.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the
requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the
C, City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist due to the project timetable the
project must be initiated by July 19, 2006
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the first reading of this
Ordinance.
