ORDINANCE NO. 2007-2-7236
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF H&G CONSTRUCTION
COMPANY, INC., FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COLEMAN ROAD/U.S.
HIGHWAY 60 INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accepts the bid of H&G Construction
Company, Inc., in the amount of $376,128.09, for construction of the Coleman Road/U.S.
Highway 60 Intersection Improvement Project, said bid being in substantial compliance with bid
specifications, and advertisement for bids, as contained in the bid of H&G Construction
Company, Inc. of January 31, 2007.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract with
H&G Construction Company, Inc., for construction of the Coleman Road/U.S. Highway 60
Intersection Improvement Project, authorized in Section 1 above, according to the specifications,
bid proposal and all contract documents heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged to the Coleman Road Turn Lane
Project Account - ST0029.
SECTION 4. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the
requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the
City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist in order to complete the project
prior to the Quilter's Convention.

SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the first reading of this
