ORDINANCE NO. 2007-8-7309
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMERGENCY PURCHASE OF A
FRONT -LOADING REFUSE COLLECTION CHASSIS AND BODY FOR USE IN THE
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT FOR SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah authorizes the emergency purchase of a front-
loading refuse collection chassis and body from McBride Mack Sales, Inc., in the total amount of
$184,844.00, for use in the Public Works Department. This purchase is in compliance with bids
previously obtained from McBride Mack Sales, Inc., of June 27, 2007.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract with McBride
Mack Sales, Inc., for the purchase of a front -loading refuse collection chassis and body,
authorized in Section 1 above.
SECTION 3. This purchase shall be charged to Rolling Stock/Vehicle Heavy
account.
SECTION 4. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the
requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the
City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist due to an existing front -loader
vehicle destroyed by fire, and, if purchase is delayed, delivery of this vehicle could take up to one
year.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the first reading.
