ORDINANCE NO. 2007-7-7305
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH JJR, LLC. FOR DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY
SERVICES FOR THE CITY'S DOWNTOWN AREA
WHEREAS, previous planning studies have indicated inadequate lodging in the
downtown area; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined a need for professional advisory services to
determine potential development sites and market conditions of the downtown area; and
WHEREAS, JJR, LLC has in its employ persons in this area of expertise.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Paducah is hereby authorized and
directed to execute an agreement with JJR, LLC in the amount of $25,000.00 for development
advisory services for the City's downtown area.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to the Downtown Development
RFP, project account ED 0080.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the
requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the
City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist due to the necessity to proceed with
construction of a downtown hotel during the 2008 construction season and to be completed for
use in the 2009 visitor season.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the first reading of this
Ordinance.
