HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-12-7370505 ORDINANCE NO. 2007-12-7370 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO PAY FOR THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A MTC3600 CONTROLLER AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE PADUCAH-McCRACKEN COUNTY 911 EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS CENTER AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING TO SAME WHEREAS, a written determination has been made by the City Manager that due to the 911 system currently being operated with Motorola equipment and it being necessary to purchase 800 MHz radio controllers for the operation of the Paducah -McCracken County 911 Emergency Communication Center and the only designated agent is Jackson Purchase Two -Way; therefore, making this a sole source purchase pursuant to Sec. 2-659 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes the Finance Director to make payment to Jackson Purchase Two -Way, in the amount of $570,955.00, for purchase and installation of a MTC3600 controller and related equipment for the Paducah -McCracken County 911 Emergency Communications Center and authorizes the Mayor to execute all documents relating to same. SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Radio Depreciation and Replacement Fund account. SECTION 3. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the requirement of a second reading of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist due to it being essential to the execution of a contract before the end of the calendar year for the purchase of the 911 equipment. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, as provided by law. ATT ST: �I Tammara S.
