HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-1-7378519 ORDINANCE NO. 2008-1-7378 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF MIDWEST TERMINAL, INC. FOR THE CITY'S FUEL SUPPLY, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah accepts the bid of Midwest Terminal, Inc. for the City's purchase of gasoline and diesel fuel at OPIS (Oil Price Information Service) plus $.06, through an automated fuel accounting system. Said contract is in substantial compliance with bid specifications, advertisement for bids, and bid of Midwest Terminal, Inc., dated December 21, 2007, is for a term of one year and contains an option to renew at the same terms for three additional one-year periods. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract between the City of Paducah and Midwest Terminal, Inc., for the City's fuel supply and various services as set out in Section 1 above. SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged to various accounts. SECTION 4. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist due to the current vendor providing a last minute notification of contract cancellation and the time 1 required to replace automated software and equipment (new gas cards).
