HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-3-7397ORDINANCE NO. 2008-3-7397 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMERGENCY PURCHASE OF ONE AIR CURTAIN BURNER UNIT FOR USE BY THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, said equipment is offered under the Federal Government General Services Administration Contract No. V797P-4345a-Mod 12 at a lower price. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah authorizes the Finance Director to pay an amount not to exceed $100,000.00, to Air Burners, LLC for purchase of one air curtain burner unit, for use by the Public Works Department, in compliance with the Federal Government General Services Administration Contract. SECTION 2. This purchase shall be charged to the Public Works Non Rolling Stock/Equipment account. SECTION 3. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist due to exorbitant grinding fees incurred while trying to reduce the amount of debris collected at the compost yard from the February 12, 2008 ice storm.
