HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-2-7394ORDINANCE NO. 2008-2-7394 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF EWR/SIMPLY MULCH FOR THE CITY'S REQUIREMENT OF GRINDING SERVICES, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah accepts the bid of EWR/Simply Mulch for the City's requirement of grinding services in the amount of $500.00 per hour for a term of one year and contains an option to renew at the same terms for three additional one-year periods. Said contract is in substantial compliance with bid specifications, advertisement for bids, and bid of EWR/Simply Mulch dated December 21, 2007. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract between the City of Paducah and EWR/Simply Mulch for the City's requirement of grinding services as set out in Section 1 above. SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged to the Public Works Miscellaneous-Contractual/Rental Equipment account. SECTION 4. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist due to the Compost Yard being filled to capacity with yard debris from the extensive tree damage that occurred during the February 12, 2008 ice storm.
