AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR OPERATION OF PUBLIC ACCESS CHANNELS 2 AND
11 AND OTHER RELATED SERVICES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute an
agreement between City of Paducah, West Kentucky Community & Technical College and
Paducah Junior College for operation of Public Access Channels 2 and 11 and related services
for the City in the amount of $60,000. This Agreement will expire June 30, 2013. Upon annual
review as part of the City Budget Review, the City will review services provided by and the
needs of the College to determine if changes are appropriate. If no changes are made in the
funding allocation in the City budget or the terms of the Agreement, the City, the West Kentucky
Community & Technical College and Paducah Junior College obligations shall automatically
renew each year and remain in effect until June 20, 2016.
SECTION 2. Payment for these services will be as follows:
a) The City will fund to the Paducah Junior College $60,000 from the City's
FY2013 Budget. The City shall appropriate and remit funds to the
Paducah Junior College by December 31St of each year upon receipt of
invoice.
b) In addition, the City will pay on a quarterly basis to the Paducah Junior
College aka Foundation an amount equal to twenty-five ($0.25) per
Comcast subscriber per month.
C) Failure of any party to fulfill this responsibility can constitute notice of
termination.
SECTION 3. This expenditure, shall be funded through accounts: Cable
Authority Other and PEG Payments.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
