HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/01/91173 ROLL CALL At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambers at City Hall at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 1991,1 Mayor Montgomery presided, and upon call of the roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to their names: Commissioners Hornsby, Taylor and Mayor Mont- gomery (3). Commissioners Coleman and Grumley were absent (2). NOTICES OF CALLED MEETING Commissioner HoErnsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting,to be heldat 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 1991, be received and fin d. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (3). BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT REPORT TO CITY COMMISSION Mr. Gene Larson, Chairman of the Board of Adjustment, introduced the following members to the Board of Commissioners: Bruce Pope, Joe Herdy, and Joan Nelson, Planning & Zoning Administrator. All other members were absent. Chairman Larson reported on the duties, activities and responsibilities of the Board of Adjustment and replied to questions posed by the Board of Commissioners. ORDINANCE - ADOPTION ADOPT 1991-92 TAX RATE Commissioner Taylor offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Board of Commissioners adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE LEVIES AND RATES OF TAXATION ON ALL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, SUBJECT TO TAXATION FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES AND FOR SCHOOL PURPOSES FOR THE PERIOD FROM JULY 1, 1991, THROUGH JUNE 30, 1992, WITH THE PURPOSES OF SAID TAXES THEREUNDER DEFINED". Setting the 1991-92 Tax Rate as follows: PURPOSE RATE PER $100.00 General Fund of the Cit Real Property $0.433 Personal Property 6,490 Other Municipal Purposes Public Library Real Estate 0.050 Personal Property D -Q5,0 Appointive Employees Pension Fund Real Estate 0.015 Personal Property 0.015 0 174 Voted Bonds Sinking Fund for Retirement Real Property 0.006 Personal Property 0.006 Interest Real Property 0.008 Personal Property 0.008 SCHOOL PURPOSES Paducah Junior College Real Estate 0.032 Personal Property 0:034 Total Tax Rate per $100 - real property 0.569 Total Tax Rate per $100 - personal property 0.603 Special Levies for General Fund Stocks of Banks & Trust Companies 0.21 The City of Paducah shall collect the following taxes for the Board of Education: Public School - General Fund & FSPK Property Real Property 0.591 Personal Property 0.591 Property taxes levied herein shall be due and payable in the following manner: The first half payment shall be due on October 1, 1991, and shall be payable without penalty and interest until October 31, 1991. The Second half payment shall be due on April 1, 1992, and shall be payable without penalty and interest until April 30, 1992. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (3). WnnW evnn Rod Dittmer, Director of Planning and Community Development, reported to the City Commission. He reported on progress of several projects, including amendments of the Enterprise Zone Ordinance and the Zoning Ordinance. He also answered various questions posed by the City Commission. EXECUTIVE SESSION Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Taylor that the Board of Commissioners go into Executive Session for discussions which might lead to the appointment, discipline or dismissal of an individual employee, and to discuss litigation. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (3). 175 At the conclusion of the Executive Session the Board reconvened in open session, whereupon the Mayor announced there was no further business.
