ROLL CALL
At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners
held in the Commission Chambers at City Hall at 7:00 p.m.,
Tuesday, September 3, 1991, Mayor Montgomery presided, and upon
call of the roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to
their names: Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Taylor and Mayor
Montgomery (4). Commissioner Hornsby was absent (1).
NOTICES OF CALLED MEETING
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by
Commissioner Grumley, that the executed copies of the Notice of
Called Meeting to be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 3,
1991, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll,
yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Taylor and. Mayor
Montgomery (4).
PADUCAH CABLE COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY REPORT
TO CITY COMMISSION
Mr. Carney Allen, CPA, Chairman of the Paducah Cable
Communications Authority, introduced Board members to the
Commission. Members present were George Sirk, Sr., Melvin
Taylor, Ron Ruggles, Allie Morgan, Ex Officio, and Lenita
Smith, Secretary. Hardy Roberts was absent.
Chairman Allen reported on the activities and
accomplishments of Governmental Access Channel 11 and PCC
Access Channel 2, and replied to questions posed by the Board
of Commissioners. Other Authority members addressing the
Commission were Mr. Taylor, Mr. Sirk, Mr. Ruggles and Allie
Morgan.
ORDINANCES - INTRODUCTION
PURCHASE PROPERTY AT 1560 NORTH 8TH STREET
Commissioner Taylor offered motion, seconded by
Mayor Montgomery, that the Board of Commissioners introduce an
-..ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH PADUCAH NEWSPAPERS
INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000.00 TO ACQUIRE PROPERTY LOCATED
AT 1560 NORTH 8TH STREET IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, McCRACKEN
COUNTY, KENTUCKY". This ordinance is summarized as follows:
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract
with Paducah Newspapers Inc. in the amount of $20,000 for the
purchase of real estate located at 1560 North 8th Street in
the City of Paducah.

Public Works Director David Harvell and Refuse \
Director Don Bennett discussed a new proposed solid waste 4
ordinance with the Commission. Tentative dates for future
discussions on this ordinance are September 17 and October 15.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
