HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/22/96AUGUST 22, 1996 ROLL CALL At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 1996, in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, Mayor Jones presided, and upon call of the roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to their names: Commis- sioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro and Mayor Jones (4). NOTICES OF CALLED MEETING Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the copies of Notice of Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah for 1:30 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 1996, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro and Mayor Jones (4). EXECUTIVE SESSION Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Renfro, that the Board of Commissioners to into closed session for discussion of matters pertaining to the following topics: 1. Issues which might lead to the appointment, dismissal or disciplining of an employee, as permitted by KRS 61.810(1)(f). Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, V/ Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro and Mayor Jones (5). At the conclusion of the Executive Session the Board reconvened in Open Session, whereupon the Mayor called the meeting back to order. ORDINANCES - INTRODUCTION -` APPROVE AFSCME CONTRACT (3 YEARS) Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Renfro, that the Board of Commissioners introduce an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES, AFL-CIO, LOCAL 1586". This ✓ ordinance is summarized as follows: Authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract between the City and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, Local 1586. Duration of said contract shall be from July 1, 1996, through June 30, 1999. TREE & BRUSH GRINDING AT COMPOST SITE Commissioner Renfro offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Board of Commissioners introduce an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF ENVIRONMENTAL WOOD RECYCLING IN THE AMOUNT OF $225.00 PER HOUR FOR TREE AND BRUSH GRINDING AT THE CITY'S COMPOST SITE, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME". The foregoing title summarizes the contents of this ordinance, which authorizes a two-year contract with Environmental Wood Recycling for grinding services" at the compost site, with option to renew. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro and Mayor Jones (5). Upon motion the meeting adjourned. ADOPTED: August 27, 1996 T 123
