AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2006-11-7213
"AUTHORIZING THE URBAN RENEWAL AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
AGENCY TO ACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY FOR REVITALIZATION OF THE
FOUNTAIN AVENUE—PHASE I PROJECT"
WHEREAS, the City adopted Ordinance No. 2006-11-7213, authorizing
the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency to act on behalf of the Board
of Commissioners to create a development area, to apply for grants, to hold public
hearings and approve acquisitions of property that do not exceed $50,000; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department is now in the construction phase
and is requesting Urban Renewal be given the authority to act on behalf of the Board for
approval of construction contracts that exceed $20,000 but do not exceed $50,000.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes the Urban
Renewal and Community Development Agency to act on behalf of the Board of
Commissioners of the City of Paducah for revitalization of the Fountain Avenue—Phase
I project.
SECTION 2. That Section 2 is hereby amended to read as follows: "That
the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency is further authorized to act on
behalf of the Board of Commissioners to create a development area, to apply for grants,
to hold public hearings, approve the purchase of property and work with the Planning
Department to oversee the day-to-day activities to move this plan forward. Acquisitions
and other expenditures for renovations that exceed $50,000 shall be presented to the
Board of Commissioners for approval.
SECTION 3. The City of Paducah hereby directs the Planning
Department to provide a quarterly report that shows a map of the properties acquired and
disposed of and lists the acquisition cost and disposal revenue for each parcel to the
Board of Commissioners of the activity of the Urban Renewal and Community
Development Agency regarding the Fountain Avenue—Phase I Project.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursuai
