R & F NOTICES Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Notices of Called Meeting for 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 1995, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro and Mayor Montgomery (5). MINUTES Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the reading of the Minutes for April 25, 1995, be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro and Mayor Montgomery (5). R & F BIDS Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Renfro, that the following bids be received and filed for the DEES/Wastewater Treatment Plant: Four -Wheel Drive Skid Steer Loader: V1011 1. James Sanders Nursery 2. Black Equipment Co. 3. McKeel Equipment Co. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro and Mayor Montgomery (5). ORDINANCE - EMERGENCY PURCHASE AUTOS FOR PLANNING & BUILDING DEPT. & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPT. Commissioner Renfro offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Board of Commissioners adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING COMPLETION OF THE PURCHASE OF TWO 1995 FORD TAURUS AUTOMOBILES FROM TRI -COUNTY FORD -MERCURY INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,168 FOR USE BY THE PLANNING & BUILDING DEPARTMENT AND THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME". ORDINANCE NO. 95-5-5279, BOOK 26, P.. ORDINANCES - ADOPTION POLICE & FIRE FIGHTERS RETIREMENT FUND INCREASE Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Board of Commissioners adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A COST OF LIVING INCREASE TO THE ANNUITIES OF ELIGIBLE ANNUITANTS AND INCREASING THE BENEFITS FOR CERTAIN WIDOWS OF DECEASED ANNUITANTS UNDER THE POLICE AND FIRE FIGHTERS' RETIREMENT FUND OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY". ordinance is summarized as follows: Granting a 2.5% increase to recipients of the Police and Fire Fighters' Retirement Fund retroactive to July 1, 1994, increasing monthly payments to certain widows to an amount not less than $350.00 retroactive to July 1, 1994, and increasing the City's contributions to the Fund so as to fund such increases in the future. ORDINANCE NO. 95-5-5280, BOOK 26, P. /97. *NOTE: City Manager Hoover said these increases will be reflected on the June, 1995, checks. 312 V V/ PURCHASE WATER PUMP SYSTEM FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT/LIFT STATIONS Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the Board of Commissioners adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF K/M SPECIALTY PUMPS, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,340 FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF A SEALED WATER PUMP SYSTEM FOR THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT AND LIFT STATIONS, DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENGINEERING. SERVICES, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME". The foregoing title summarizes the contents of this ordinance. ORDINANCE NO.95-5-5281, BOOK 26, P..20i ORDINANCES - INTRODUCTION PURCHASE 16 AUTOS FOR POLICE DEPT. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Renfro, that the Board of Commissioners introduce an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING COMPLETION OF THE PURCHASE OF SIXTEEN 1995 FORD CROWN VICTORIA AUTOMOBILES FROM PAUL MILLER FORD INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $258,504 FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME". The foregoing title summarizes the contents of this ordinance. PURCHASE VEHICLE FOR DEES/WASTEWATER TREATMENT DIV. Commissioner Renfro offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Board of Commissioners introduce an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING COMPLETION OF THE PURCHASE OF ONE ONE-HALF TON FORD PICKUP TRUCK FROM MAN O'WAR AUTOMOTIVE INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,613, FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES/WASTEWATER COLLECTION DIVISION, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME". The foregoing title summarizes the contents of this ordinance. PURCHASE SKID LOADER FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Board of Commissioners introduce an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF McKEEL EQUIPMENT COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,680 FOR ONE SKID STEER LOADER FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES/WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME". The foregoing title summarizes the contents of this ordinance. ANNOUNCEMENT Mayor Montgomery announced that an Open House will be held on May 11 for the followingf lities : ` Day Nurser, Se for Citizens and RSVP. EXECUTIVE SESSION Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the Board go into closed session for discussion of matters pertaining to the following topics: 1. Issues which might lead to the appointment, dismissal, or disciplining of an employee, as permitted by KRS 61.810(1)(f). Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro and Mayor Montgomery (5). At the conclusion of the Executive Session the Board reconvened in Open Session, whereupon the Mayor announced there was no further business. Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
