AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH
AMERICA'S PROMISE ALLIANCE FOR THE 2011 100 BEST COMMUNITIES FOR
YOUNG PEOPLE GRANT AWARD AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING TO SAME
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah applied for the 2011 100 Best Communities for
Young People Grant Award by Municipal Order No. 1601 adopted on April 12, 2011; and
WHEREAS, America's Promise Alliance named Paducah as one of the 2011 100
Best Communities for Young People and is now ready to award the grant.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby approves a Grant Agreement with
America's Promise Alliance for the 2011 100 Best Communities for Young People Grant Award.
This grant includes a cash award in the amount of $2,500 for the purpose of conducting a local
event and/or funding a local youth -serving program.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a Grant Agreement
and all documents relating to same with America's Promise Alliance as authorized in Section 1
above. The period of the Grant Agreement will begin on October 1, 2011 and terminate on
March 1, 2012.
SECTION 3. Grant funds will be deposited into the Other Grants Account.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
